Polls are closed in Kentucky and there are exactly two contests worth watching in the Bluegrass state: the Democratic primaries for the Senate and the 2nd Congressional District. I’m feeling pretty ill today, so no liveblogging for me.
UPDATE (David): No surprise – Lunsford wins. In KY-02, Boswell has a 20% lead over Haire.
37.3% to Lunsford’s 48.8. Still disappointing, though.
Looks like he did all right. If he had a few more weeks and the unions and the establishment had not pushed for Lunsford, he might have pulled it off.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but there won’t be a runoff even if Lunsford gets below 50%.
Kind of sad considering he’s been the only candidate running for what, 3 months now?
Lunsford is expected. Boswell is not. He hadn’t been campaigning hard and his opponent had out raised and outspent him big time.
KY-02 could be one of the sleepers of this cycle.
Our second place (Obama) finisher in the KY Dem primary received >60,000 more votes than McCain did in his primary.
